Training

On this site we would like to present you a rough overview of training and training possibilities for German Boxer, Dogs generally and for their owners. For details and concrete questions and inquiries you can contact also our group.

Puppy Play

Between the 8 and 10 life week of the puppy the puppy gets separated from the dam and thus an interruption of the socialization phase take place. The puppy comes to its new owner into a completely new environment.

In puppy play hours the puppy learns at an age starting from 8 weeks handling animals of the same species and to watch and learn behaviors from each other.

Contact to other dogs is important, so that the adult dog then does not react fearfully or aggressively to animals of the same species.

The dog owner learns to strengthen the human dog relationship and about the "understanding" between dog and owner. Step by step the puppy learns first commands such as "sit", "place", "come here" and "foot".

In each case our group offers puppy play hours in Nuremberg (not only for German Boxers - all dog breeds welcome) to you on near every Saturday starting at 2:30 pm. Additional information you can find here.

Private lessons

At the private lessons and/or single training the dog coach can dedicate itself to a pair of dog/owners in the training individually and deal with special problems or deficits or recognize such.

Informations and dates for single dog training you also can find here.

Group lessons

The training of group of dogs and/or group work is recommended and offered following the regular puppy play hours for dogs and young dogs starting from an age by approx. 8 months.

Further commands, how e.g. "stay" or "stand" are learned and/or the dog learn to lie or sit to remain, if dog owner depart. Also passing "dog on dog". The dog learns also e.g. remain sitting, if the dog leader welcomes someone. Finally a conclusion follows, which consists of complete a course of obstacle break through, crouch through or jumping over several obstacles.

The group training is offered, for all dog breeds, also by the Boxer Klub (registered association - Munich), group of Fuerth. The dog training area in Nuremberg you find simply right after the Nuremberg animal shelter (Stadenstrasse).

Companion Dog Training - Training for the Companion Dog Exam (BH)

The Guard Dog Exam (BH) is a basic examination in the associations of the VDH (German Kennel Club), in which the obedience of the dog and its behavior in the public (e.g. meeting walker, jogger or biker) are examined.

This examination is the base for the participation in further examinations and dog sports, like versatility examination for customs dogs (VPG) or track work (FH). It consists of two parts: a part on the exercise area (subordination) and a part of traffic examination in the public. Before the examination the achievement judge convinces himself furthermore of the impartiality of the dog (impartiality and/or nature test), which is further judged also during the entire examination. Dogs with lack of nature are disqualified immediately.

Track work

At the track work in the dog sports a track is put on a meadow or a field. It puts items down on the track to indicate (plastic, wood or leather), which the dog has to refer on searching either (passively) or take up. The dog leader follows the dog on the track with 10 meters of distance. Depending upon state of training of the dog the track work must be processed in a certain time (20 min to 3 hours).

Protection service

The training of a protection dog should begin in the youth of a dog. There the dog instict for a booty is affected so later the dog consider the protection sleeve as his booty. There it is heavy to mediate obedience to the dog in the booty instinct. In order to learn the necessary instructions, in addition, the barking and other abilities, it is however necessary to hold the dog in this impulse and to calm it down not as in the subordination. It has to be decided, which kind of protection dog training someone wants or needs. The most common is the sporty protection dog training, which finish in protection dog examinations and which is completed mainly due to sporty ambition and fun at this sport.

In the dog sports the led dog becomes an absolutely safe training reliable and also companion obedient dog in extreme situations. In the VPG (versatility examination for customs dogs) led dogs are mostly substantially self-assured more calmly and better to lead than not trained dogs. Nowadays the dogs are trained more by motivation and play and without substantial pressure. The dog in the sports does not learn, how often wrongly represented, to bite humans but can realize and live its booty instincs. In the sport the dogs are fixed on the protection sleeve; outside of the dog training areas and without the sleeve a trained sport protection dog will not attack humans - on the contrary. According to statistics a trained dog substantially is more strong and self-confident at new, unusual situations.
